This tea comes from the same garden as our 2018 Spring Guafengzhai pressing. It's from a smaller and less well known area in Guafengzhai that hasn't been promoted. The trees are old, healthy and strong & haven't been overpicked or had agrochemicals used.
The farmer who owns these trees is quite elderly & so just makes a small quantity each year. We have purchased all of his production this year. Looking critically, his processing could be improved - the flavours aren't quite as precise as some of the younger boys who pick and process the more famous tea gardens, but in our opinion the quality of the base material more than makes up for it and his prices are reasonable. It's thick and rich, with good energy and satisfying taste.
