This Spring we collected, processed and pressed two tall pole trees (gaogan) separately from Guafengzhai's Chawangshu tea garden.
We contemplated blending the two together to increase the quantity of the pressing - sometimes this works well, but in this case the blend tasted a little messy and the purity and precise character of each tree was lost. We decided in the end to keep these separate and press each on their own. Both are exceptional in their own right and we'd struggle to pick a favourite. Rather than calling them "1" or "2", we decided to stamp them with symbols △ & O
These teas are pure, clean and vibrant. They have solid body and concentrated, steady aftertaste. This year's Chawangshu teas are the best we've made so far and these single trees are another step above.
