This is a small batch of clay we found recently - we've been on the hunt for batches of clay similar to those found in antique pots. Tuanni and duanni are sometimes used interchangeably, describing a natural amalgamation of clays. In this instance, we've used Tuanni to describe this old clay, naturally containing red, brown, dark yellow particles with black iron spots erupting during firing (known as TieRong). This ore was mined in Yixing's Huanglongshan and has been hand-sorted and stone ground.
This was completely handmade and fired in a tuiban gas kiln. Inside is a single hole filter.
This is a lovely clay, and well suited for this antique JuLunZhu shape.
We have also tested this clay and attach the EDXRF report showing no additives.
