We've been looking for a nice batch of Zhaozhuang Zhuni for quite a while now. It has been very difficult to find a batch of high quality clay without additives and we were very happy when we came across this. The clay is stone ground with fine sieve size and without addition of grog to stabilise the clay during firing. As a result, we lost quite a few of these pots in the kiln. We're very happy with how the surviving pots turned out.
This is half-handmade, high fired, thin walls and made in the shape of a Qing Dynasty teapot that we liked.
