Mansai is at the very southern end of the Bulang mountains, right at the border with Myanmar. We pressed this in Spring 2010, these cakes spent a few years in the UK before being moved to our Malaysia storage for the past decade. The strong, bud heavy composition has transformed well over the years - it’s smooth and thick, with nice huigan that splashes up the mouth and throat. It is developing nice camphor notes as it ages.
The storage has been clean, giving a balanced tea that is developing nicely in age.
This is the last of our stock of these cakes and we thought we’d make them available for those who missed out on our pressings in years past and for those old customers who drank these when fresh and would like to see how they’ve transformed over the years.
