This is a very nice pure ancient tree Manzhuan tea made by Quanjihao. The leaves are uniform and picked young, with lots of strong leaf and bud sets. It was stored with Quan Ji until 2017, then in Jinghong until now. The heat and humidity in Jinghong has transformed the tea nicely and the greenness of youth has gone, with nice semi-aged flavours developing.
The tea in the mouth has good thickness, caramel sweetness and concentrated character. There is plenty of strength when pushed and long, steady aftertaste. The storage of this was different than the 2014 Quanjihao Manzhuan we also sell and it tastes quite a bit further along in the ageing process.
This is very nice tea, at less than the price that we'd be able to make new tea from similar material.
