This is a small production we made in 2015, an early spring picking of the same trees from the YunYun cakes that we pressed in 2014 & 2015. We sold this for a short time in 2015 and decided to put the rest away to age in our warehouse in Malaysia.
These trees sprouted a bit late in the season, so we decided to make this special pressing mostly of fat buds and one or two leaves. This produced a tea that was strong and concentrated. Since this village is quite remote and undeveloped the processing was a bit rudimentary with some smoke. This has settled nicely after a decade in our Malaysia warehouse, producing a robust, full tea with long aftertaste and plenty of strength to continue to age. The greenness of youth is gone and it’s already developing nice aged flavours.
This is a powerful, concentrated tea that is comfortably uplifting to drink and robust in the mouth and throat.
