2016 Spring EoT Nancai Ancient Tree Puerh
2016 Spring EoT Nancai Ancient Tree Puerh
Last month we travelled back to our Malaysia warehouse to check up on our storage there and taste the progress of some of our teas that we have stashed away.
In Spring 2016, we pressed a small batch of tea from Nancai, a village in the Zhen Yuan area of Wuliang Mountains. This village isn’t famous, but it has nice ancient trees & we felt the tea has good strength for ageing. We put this batch of spring production into our warehouse and left it to age.
When young, this tea had good concentration, also has a bit of a kick, with a slight of a bitter edge. After 8 years in Malaysia’s hot and humid climate, the edge of youth has softened and it has a clear and clean taste with good, solid body. The bitterness and astringency transforms quickly, leaving a nice sweet aftertaste. After just a few sips, the body feels warm and comfortable. It seems like now is a good time to start appreciating this tea. We hope you enjoy it too.
