2023 Earth Old Tree Shu Puerh

The third batch of our Earth shu puerh. We fermented this in 2023 and left it to rest for a couple of years to allow the fermentation flavours to settle.
These cakes allow us to support our long term relationship with tea farmers in the mountains whose tea we use to produce this nice clean old tree Shu Puerh cake.
We used the same materials and same formula when making this batch, and continued using spring water to moisten the tea leaves as well. We worked with the same fermentation manager for this batch, to create a balanced fermentation, not too fermented - still allowing the vibrancy of the original tea to remain.
We're very happy again with how this turned out. It's vibrant, warming, smooth and sweet with deep toffee notes and very comfortable to drink. It has become a regular drink of ours in the evenings, even when we want to be able to sleep.
