Over the past 17 years of making puerh tea, Guafengzhai is probably the village that we have the most experience with and best connections. With this in mind, and since we're not aware of a resource like this available elsewhere, we decided to stay in the village for around 2 weeks this spring, visit each of the major tea gardens (and some minor ones too), collect fresh leaves from the ancient trees of each garden and process them in a similar style.
This wasn't an easy task and required good relationships with different families, especially for some of the smaller micro-regions where the ancient trees were in high demand.
