Leida Shan 雷达山 (Radar Mountain), so called due to the government radar facility in the area, is an area close to Pasha that has risen to popularity in recent years. There is an abundance of ancient tea trees growing in unspoilt forest.
I've been wondering how to introduce this tea to someone who hasn't tried tea from this area. I guess if I was to compare it to other teas, it would be somewhere inbetween the best of Nannuo and Laobanzhang. It has characteristics from both and these work together nicely. If we were to make a tea approximating Laobanzhang gushu tea, this is probably the tea that we would use.
It has very pleasant sweet high end notes, with an underlying strength that comes with northern bulang mountain teas. It's almost effervescent on the tongue and has a steady concentrated aftertaste.
This tea was produced by friends of ours from Menghai who stayed in the mountain and collected and processed the fresh leaves themselves. A very nice tea at a price that was made possible due to the slow economy and a drop in the price of Bulang mountain teas this year.
