Zhuni was mined in three main areas - Zhaozhuang, Xiao Mei Yao, and Huanglongshan. Although all three are called Zhuni, they all have different characteristics. This one is from Huanglongshan.
We processed this clay from original ore, allowing us to have control over the processing and ensure that there were no additives or chemicals used during processing.
These pots are very nicely made. The thin walls and this high fired clay are perfect for those teas that will benefit from allowing the top notes to shine. It's a matter of preference, but we'd recommend this for young sheng puerh, oolongs, even cleanly stored aged teas where you don't want the flavour to be muted.
These were half-handmade - with the clay pressed into a form to standardise the shape, then finished by hand and fired twice, finishing with a high temperature firing. Inside is a single hole filter.
This clay has been tested with EDXRF testing, showing as pure with no chemical additives as is overwhelmingly common these days.
