We began processing this batch of DiCaoQing clay last year from original ore from Yixing's Huanglongshan area.
Using small batches of clay and processing by hand allows us complete control over the quality of the clay and ensures no additives or chemical washing.
These pots are very nicely made. This clay performs very nicely over a range of teas, both younger puerh and more aged teas, where you want to slightly round out the edges, but still allow clear appreciation of the nuances of a tea.
These were half-handmade - with the clay pressed into a form to standardise the shape, then finished by hand and fired twice, finishing with a high temperature firing. Inside is a single hole filter.
This clay has been tested with EDXRF testing, showing as pure with no chemical additives as is overwhelmingly common these days.
