We had an antique plate in our collection that made a perfect tray for putting teacups on when brewing tea. These old flat plates are not so easy to come across in the market, but make perfect trays for teacups. We thought it might be nice to recreate this for tealovers.
We made a form in the original shape and these are hand pressed into the mould to create the shape. They are then finished by hand, glazed with the same rice straw glaze that we use for our other Fangxia teaware and fired in a gas kiln.
Note: Since the base is flat and they're hand finished, there might be some slight movement on a hard surface. We recommend placing a tea cloth underneath to absorb any movement. It can accommodate up to 6 of our Fangxia 50ml teacups
