The Chinese market is full of mass-produced tea trays in this format, but we have long had a wish to make something a little more special. We asked a potter in Jingdezhen to hand-throw some ceramic bases for us, using the same glaze as our cups. For the lid, we asked a Yunnan silversmith to hand-hammer some lids using 99% pure tin, and finish it with a brass rim and centre decoration for the water hole. Each piece is unique, with variations in hammering pattern and small variations in size.
We have two styles of these trays available - both undecorated, and with a simple blue line decoration as shown in the photos. Both come with a box for transport and storage.
