This is a prototype from a new batch of pots we have commissioned from a potter in Yixing. It's completely handmade.
The tea pot shape is called JulunZhu - a style dating from the Qing Dynasty. This simple and functional shape is well loved by tea lovers - simple and functional, with an understated beauty.
This is made from JiangPoNi - stone ground from original ore from Yixing's Huanglong Mountain. The clay is completely unmixed with any additives. It was fully handmade and fired in a gas kiln.
The walls are medium-thick. Inside, there is a single-hole filter. This, combined with the short straight spout, lends itself to easy clearing of blockages while brewing and a smooth, fast pour.
