We found these gaiwans from one of our antique vendors in Fujian Province a few years ago. They apparently were made in the 80’s and he had a large stock of them unused. We offered these previously to teaclub members, but have received quite a few requests from people keen to purchase more.
We use these every day for tasting samples and really enjoy using them. The gaiwans are simple and functional with nice glazing, as well as an elegant shape and medium-thin walls. The lovely curve on the rim makes it really easy to hold and precise to pour.
These are suitable for 1-3 people to use and affordable enough to use several side by side for comparing teas.
